talat notifies you when it does something you might want to know about: a recording started, a meeting is about to begin, an update is ready. Each type can be turned on or off, or you can turn them all off at once.
Allow notifications
Settings → Notifications → Allow notifications turns every notification on or off.
Delivery
- Screen corner. Which corner of the screen notifications appear in: top left, top right, bottom left or bottom right. Top right is the default. Bottom corners sit above the Dock or taskbar.
- Auto-dismiss. How long a notification stays on screen: 3, 5, 8, 10 or 15 seconds. Pointing at a notification pauses it.
- Suppress while recording. Update notifications don’t show while you’re recording. Recording and meeting notifications still do.
- Test notification. Show puts a sample notification in the chosen corner for the chosen time.
Recording
- Recording started. When talat detects a call and starts recording.
- Call in progress. When a call starts and talat is set to ask before recording, or when you open talat during a call.
- Still recording. When a recording is still running but won’t stop on its own, or no one has spoken for a while.
- Recording stopped. When talat stops a recording because your call ended, with an option to resume it.
- Disclosure reminder. When someone else first speaks, so you can tell them you’re recording. Off by default.
Meetings
Meeting starting gives a heads-up 1, 2 or 5 minutes before a scheduled meeting begins, for calendar and manually added events. Choose Off to turn it off.
Updates
- Update available. When a new version of talat is ready to install.
- Update installed. After talat updates and restarts.
After a meeting
Summary failed tells you when a summary couldn’t be written in the background. Off by default.
