Your download is on its way.

Thanks for giving talat a try. Windows takes a while to warm up to new publishers, so you’ll probably hit a couple of warnings before the installer runs - the screenshots below walk through them.

Start the downloadIf the download didn’t start automatically.

On the wrong computer? Get the Mac version instead. If something doesn’t work, email hello@talat.app.

Step 1

Your browser might flag the download.

Chrome and Edge sometimes mark new executables as “not commonly downloaded.” In Edge, open the downloads panel, click the menu next to the file, and choose Keep:

Edge downloads panel showing the talat installer flagged as 'isn't commonly downloaded,' with the file's overflow menu open and a Keep option alongside Delete and Report this file as safe.

Edge will then ask you to confirm. Click the arrow next to Delete and choose Keep anyway:

Edge's in-browser SmartScreen confirmation: 'Make sure you trust talat-...-setup.exe before you open it.' Publisher is listed as Strongly Typed Ltd. The Delete button has a dropdown arrow revealing Keep anyway.

Chrome shows a similar prompt in the downloads bar - click the arrow next to the file and choose Keep. Once the file is kept, open the installer as normal.

Step 2

Windows might show a big blue warning.

When you open the installer, SmartScreen (Windows’ reputation check for new publishers) might show this:

Windows SmartScreen dialog: 'Windows protected your PC. Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognised app from starting.' The only visible button is 'Don't run', with a 'More info' link.

To run talat:

  1. Click More info.
  2. The Publisher will show Strongly Typed Ltd - that’s us.
  3. Click Run anyway.
The same dialog after clicking 'More info' - now showing Application, Publisher: Strongly Typed Ltd, and a 'Run anyway' button alongside 'Don't run'.
